Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Sayso platform ("the Service"), operated by Cambent Solutions, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

By creating an account, you confirm that you have read and agreed to both these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Description of the Service

Sayso is a platform that helps Canadians understand parliamentary bills by providing:

  • Plain-language summaries of bills before the Canadian Parliament
  • Balanced perspectives from multiple viewpoints
  • Audio discussions about bills
  • Tools to contact your Member of Parliament
  • Community sentiment on bills
  • Voluntary donation tools to support the platform

3. AI-Generated Content

Bill summaries, perspectives, and audio discussions are generated by artificial intelligence. This content is provided for informational purposes only and is subject to the following important limitations:

  • AI-generated content is not legal advice and should not be treated as such.
  • AI-generated content is not political advice and is not endorsed by any political party, government body, or elected official.
  • AI-generated content is not an official government interpretation of any bill.
  • While we strive for accuracy and ground our analysis in official bill text, Hansard debate records, and published news sources, AI-generated content may contain errors or omissions.
  • You should always verify important information by consulting the official bill text on the Parliament of Canada website.

4. User Accounts and Responsibilities

When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information
  • Keep your password secure and not share it with others
  • Maintain only one account per person
  • Be at least 16 years of age (the age at which you can provide meaningful consent under Canadian privacy law)
  • Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use automated tools or scripts to access or scrape the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer AI-generated analysis for commercial purposes
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable Canadian law

6. Political Opinions

Expressing your stance on bills is entirely voluntary. You may:

  • Change your stance on any bill at any time
  • Remove your stance on any bill at any time
  • Request deletion of all your stance data

Your individual stances are never shared with third parties. Community sentiment is displayed only in anonymous, aggregated form. For details on how we protect this sensitive data, see Section 6 of our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

  • The Sayso platform, including its design, code, and original content, is owned by Cambent Solutions.
  • Parliamentary bill text is Crown copyright, reproduced under the Reproduction of Federal Law Order.
  • AI-generated summaries and perspectives are provided for your personal, non-commercial use.

8. Donations

Sayso accepts voluntary donations to help cover operating costs. By making a donation, you acknowledge that:

  • Donations are voluntary and are not required to use the Service.
  • Donations are one-time payments processed securely by Stripe. Sayso does not store your payment card details.
  • Donations are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. If you believe a donation was made in error, please contact us at privacy@cambent.com and we will review your request.
  • Donations do not entitle you to any additional features, services, or preferential treatment.
  • Sayso is not a registered charity. Donations are not tax-deductible.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with external APIs and services (including Anthropic, Google, Stripe, and various Canadian government data sources). Cambent Solutions is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services. Temporary disruptions in external services may affect the functionality of our platform. Donations are processed by Stripe; your use of Stripe's checkout is subject to Stripe's Terms of Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cambent Solutions shall not be liable for:

  • Any decisions you make based on AI-generated summaries or perspectives
  • The outcome of any correspondence you send to your Member of Parliament
  • Interruptions or errors in the Service
  • Actions or policies of third-party services
  • Any issues arising from payment processing by third-party providers
  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or free from errors
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via email or a prominent notice on the platform.
